The Abacus Series short-term disability plans offer you the ability to custom design benefits and build rates that meet your clients' specific needs. With a variety of plans and flexible options, you can design benefits that work in conjunction with other employee-provided group coverages.

Whether your customers are cost driven or benefits driven, our premier and traditional plans cover all the bases, helping you design benefits that work for them. The plans are designed to allow you to build the coverage with rates that meet your needs.

Premier: Highlights

Guarantee issue up to $700/week (at group’s initial enrollment or as a newly hired employee, if timely)
Rate structure: issue age rates for initial policy and increases
Continuity of coverage available on all takeovers
Minimum participation at issue: six enrolled lives
No percentage participation requirement
Claims paid on a weekly basis
Partial disability benefit pays 50% of the weekly benefit for up to 13 weeks
Waiver of premium while receiving short-term disability benefits
Rates guaranteed for 2 years
Pre-existing benefit pays 25% of the weekly benefit for up to 4 weeks
Portability

Coverage described is subject to plan exlusions and limitations and state requirements. In the event that a discrepancy exists between the plan and this information, the plan provisions will prevail.
